Launched in 2003, “xDrive” is the brand name of BMW‘s modern all-wheel-drive system.

Initially more common in Europe and North America, this move to include more AWD vehicles to keep pace with competing brands proved popular, and today, most BMW car and SUV models include an xDrive variant of some kind in all global regions.

While the xDrive system itself has proven itself to be quite adept over the years, but for many owners, there is a downside — the voided rubber bushing holding it in place! Over time this bushing wears down, resulting in twisting of the transmission, and the on-off throttle drive-train ‘clunk’!

PFF5-4628 Transmission Case Bushing Insert (Standard) is made from our Yellow 70A durometer material, providing an excellent balance of strength and compliance for improved performance on standard Petrol/Diesel vehicles whilst limiting NVH transmission into the cabin. An increase in NVH, usually at idle, should be expected when stiffening the mount between the transmission and chassis. Also, PFF5-4628 is offered in our Performance 80A durometer and Black series 95A durometer. The harder the material, the greater the NVH transmitted.
